Founder's Note: Your Journey Through Ebony Emotions

Greetings,
Ebony Emotions is a digital space created for Black and other people of color from all walks of life, regardless of religion, identity, or socioeconomic background. Please don’t be afraid to be here as we talk about all things bipolar disorder. I intentionally include perspectives from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) across a wide range of lived experiences so that no single narrative is centered as “the right one.”
We also do not judge based on political affiliation, nor do we alienate individuals because of those differences. Ebony Emotions is not affiliated with or endorsed by any political party, and we do not dismiss people on this platform because of their social or political beliefs.
While I may reference God and my own spiritual beliefs throughout my writing, Ebony Emotions is not rooted in any one religious framework. I intentionally include voices from different spiritual backgrounds so that no one feels excluded. This space is grounded in shared humanity, lived experience, and mental health—not religious or ideological conformity.
Everything shared here reflects my personal perspectives, shaped by my life and lived experiences. Yours may look different, and that is more than okay.
On this site, you’ll find weekly articles designed to help you:
  1. Reflect
  2. Think critically
  3. Feel deeply
  4. Take meaningful action toward treatment, healing, and recovery
I talk about healing a lot—but let’s be clear: healing is not linear. There are ups, downs, pauses, breakthroughs, and setbacks (child… I would know 😂). My writing reflects the reality that treatment, stability, and growth are ongoing processes.
Take your time. Explore the site. Read freely. Follow us on Instagram. If you like what you see, you can book me to speak, write, or host. You can also support the platform through a donation via our GoFundMe page. Every contribution goes directly toward sustaining Ebony Emotions.
